NuNu Wako is an internationally recognized Ethiopian-born and American-raised Government Communications Strategist based in Washington, DC, USA. She is a prominent strategist & African Affairs political analyst who has offered on-air commentary for several media outlets including Aljazeera Africa, BBC Africa, CNNi, VOA Africa and is the co-host of VOA’s Upfront Africa Show. The depth of her dialogue ranges from current affairs to more complex government policies that have long-term implications. Prior to joining Upfront Africa, NuNu Wako hosted the NuNu Wako Show on Ethiopian Broadcasting Services for over eight years focusing on African Affairs. With an educational background in International Relations, communications and broadcast journalism, NuNu Wako has worked with multiple governments across the continent of Africa mainly on strategic country profile communications action plans and implementation. An avid health advocate & philanthropist, NuNu Wako currently serves as one of the Advisory Members for Footwork International, a 501(c)(3) public charity that brings together public and private partners to support prevention and treatment of podoconiosis. Amongst her many accomplishments, NuNu Wako has also produced a documentary on Ethiopia called Overshadowned archived at the Library of Congress, USA.
